Armed with this information, micommerce can welcome them by name, wish them a happy birthday, remind them that an item previously purchased is now due for a service, and, based on their purchase history, recommend other products that are highly likely to be of interest to them.
These recommendations are derived by combining the customer's purchase history with the data from the Also Bought List. Where a customer has no purchase history, the system can simply offer products from each of the top selling items lists, selected randomly from each department.
