miCommerce

micommerce makes use of the latest software and database technologies. This means we can maintain and extend its functionality with the minimum overhead and at the same time, provide your organisation with the highest possible levels of integration, functionality and speed.

micommerce consists of four parts:

  1. A software application written using Delphi and Microsoft C# that runs on the PCs inside your business premises.
  2. A Microsoft SQL database, used to store all the sales, purchasing and customer information created and used by the application.
  3. A 'synchroniser' application that enables the automatic and seamless integration between your local database and the remote web server.
  4. A sophisticated ecommerce system, built from the ground up, to be entirely integrated with every aspect of the software application.

The ability to provide a truly integrated web site, featuring up-to-date stock levels, order histories, promotions, customer information etc etc, used to be the preserve of only the largest of organisations. The reason was quite simply the cost. This however, is no longer the case.

The 'synchroniser' described above, transfers data from your local database up to the one on the web server (and vice versa), providing a 'near real-time' environment. For example, if a change to a price is made internally or an order is placed on your web site, the relevant information is automatically exchanged between the two databases in most cases in under a second.

Further benefits of this 'synchronised' environment, include the fact that when your Internet connection is down, your web site continues to trade as normal, and, at all times, you will have a complete and secure off-site backup of all your sales and customer data.
